Dealing with leaning walls
How to deal with leaning walls
We are often approached by dierctors of HOAs and
bodies corporate as to whether walls that are
leaning are deemed claimable events or not.
In most circumstances, leaning walls occur over time
due to various factors such as soil movement, prolonged
exposure to water due to poor drainage, tree roots,
structural overloading, ground subsidence, construction
flaws and vibrations.
As can be seen, these would normally be associated with
causes which manifest and cause damage over time.
Thus, in most cases, insurers will not admit such claims.
